When you choose Salacious Phrase, you should expect university level guidance in your vision, the “fuck it, we ball” adaptability of an artist, and heavy helping of that unmistakable Nia Burks rebellion where we obliterate and rebuild what it looks like to write a book or be an author. We are coming together to do this your way, not the standardized way. Not the expected way. With my leadership and ability to push your visioning skills to your edge, expect rigior to merge with punk rock for the ultimate expression of your idea.

I will be merging guided writing, open exploration, space to reflect, and partner work so the experience feels both focused and fluid at the same time. Combining the rigor of academia and the rebellion of artistry, we move like no other program ever has.

I will be teaching adaptive and alternative methodologies, because no two brains are alike. This can range from text to speech writing for those who can’t sit still, to reductive methods for those who can’t struggle to the point. Nothing is off limits here.

Simply put: I want to change how and who gets published. Look, I love and read much from Big 5 publishing houses, but I am bored of formulaic writing and ivory tower authorship. During my time teaching pole dance and women in general, I have heard stories, ideas, and experienced laughs and tears that left me saying "you should write a book!" for about 15 years. But traditional modes of authorship don't allow that.

Cue Salacious Phrase.

As a vocation, I create space for the complex legitimacy of women’s voices. It has the power to change a woman's view of herself, and it has. The devoted time and space I am able to offer on this level is not, and has never been, a "quit your job, give it all up and write/dance/whatever!" kind of vibe. That is unrealistic and its huge barrier to why so many women never produce real works of genius, and never learn to look to themselves for answers. The space Butter & Filth occupies is the one between realistic time constraints of real humans, and saying, within that time devoted “ok, homie, we’re here, its game on, lets go full throttle!”.

Typical guided authorship programs begin at 6 months in length and about $29,000 for the baseline tier of service. For full service ghostwriting, design, and marketing, this is actually incredibly reasonable. But it’s still out of reach for the “everyday woman” that I serve. Even if she has $29,000-$56,000 to invest in the support of her work, I still believe that something is left out: the feral truth. Together, we can break the formulaic output models, take on subjects that are taboo, unresolved, sexual, weird, or by and large considered to be unviable by traditional guided authorship programs. My goal with Salacious Phrase isn't mass market appeal. Its truthful expression that changes you from within.

The Messy Middle

This is where we execute. This will feel disorganized at first. The method I teach requires a massive, unpretty purge of data and information, reading, rereading, adding and subtracting. This is where you have to have the most faith. Below is an example of how a typical class will go, though this will be flexible.

Your questions, answered...

  • Salacious Phrase is open to Butter & Filth members and, atypical to our normal programming, non members. The pilot program will be held in Richmond, Va.

    I am able to teach to varied abilities to learn and express, though in the pilot program, it should expected that feedback will occur in group and among peers. Salacious Phrase is not personal writing coaching, though that is something I am open to in the future!

  • Not a problem. You will be responsible for getting with a cohort member if you want the covered material.

  • For a 4 month program, if you are starting from complete scratch, with zero idea, and you do not use any technological aids, expect 7,500-15,000 words (30-50 pages).

    If you use technological aids, expect that you might be able to do 12,000-22,000 words (50-75 pages).

    If you plan on entering with material and an idea, expect 18,000-27,000 words (75-100 pages).

    I recommend the use of technological aids mixed with alternative approaches to storytelling. I will be discussing these strategies to the clients who enroll.

  • This depends on your level of investment. This program can be done in classroom only, however it will then yield in classroom only results. This could be exactly what you need for your first book (yes, first, there may be more in you!)! You can also choose to make this course your hobby for 4 months and really bang out a ton of material. My recommendation would be to have a decided goal of hours per week you want to spend, and then let that be flexible! The goal is to love creating, not view it as a chore.

    My biggest word to the wise is this: achieving your dreams and speaking your truth and expressing your creativity will not happen without risk, cost, or labor. I can create a hell of a container, but I cannot do the work for you. This must be built by you and you only.

    Pragmatically, much like Erotics, you should expect to spend 5-7 hours per week on this course outside of class. You can get creative on what that looks like. I will discuss this with enrolled clients.

  • Enrollment for Butter & Filth Members who took EV and ED will begin June 1, 2026 at 9am.

    Enrollment for all other Butter & Filth Members will be June 5, 2026 at 9am.

    Enrollment for Non Members will begin June 10, 2026 at 9am.

  • I will put an enrollment button on this page and email it to you. You’ll pay a $299 non refundable deposit, which will go towards your final balance.

  • I get it! Shit happens! Like all of my programming, you have the autonomy to start, stop, and pick back up whenever you like. Balances owed will still be assessed, and personal catch up 1:1 meetings are not available outside of pre-determined editing circles, and you will be responsible for getting with a cohort member if you want the covered material.

    For the pilot Salacious Phrase cohort, I made it at about 7% of that price.

    The full program is $2297 for current studio members and $2497 for non members.

  • If you took Journey Through Fire, you get a $56 discount on the $2297.

    If you took Erotic Vitality in 2025 of 2026, you get a 5% discount ($122).

    If you took Erotic Decadence in 2025 or 2026, you get a 5% discount ($122).

    For those if you who took all three of these, your price is a $1,997. This is my personal thank you to you, who have believed in me and believed in yourself. The only time I will ever offer this price is with this inaugural cohort. If you’ve done the math up until this point, once you deduct downpayment, and discounts, if you did all three of these programs, this one is only a $76 per month increase from the Erotic programs.

  • I will be creating a “Giving Link” that you can send to friends and family, where they can put money towards your journey. So if you have a birthday, anniversary, or you have supportive people in your life, they can give, which lowers the price for you.

  • Enroll with a $299 non refundable deposit that goes toward your final balance. From there, your choices are:

    Option 1: One single payment in full in August 2026 on the date you select.

    Option 2: The remaining balance broken up into four equal payments to be paid in August, September, October and November on the date you choose.

    The price stays the same, there is no penalty for paying monthly vs one lump sum.
